Music of The Band - Period 2
This workshop featured the music of the legendary group The Band, and was led by its co-producer and keyboard player from the 90s, Professor Louie. Everyone brought their instruments and voices to play and sing some of the classics such as The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down,
I Shall Be Released, The Weight and more.
Blues Piano with Professor Louie was online - Week 2 - Period 4
If you already play piano and were ready to get into blues, barrelhouse, boogie-woogie, or rock playing, Louie started with simple rhythm patterns and expands into solo playing. Learning traditional blues, rock, and folk styles, both as a soloist and as a member of a band and to sing along or accompany a singer playing some Band songs and blues.
Juke Joint Blues - ONLINE - Week 2 Period 5 ~ Professor Louie, William Lee Ellis, Ralph Evans,
The Blues were born in the juke joints of the rural South and at this class everyone learned and shared extensive Blues repertoire. Beginner to intermediate level players with all instruments were welcome.
Special thanks to Walt Michael & Staff for all their hard work making these wonderful experiences happen during challenging and changing times.
Hope to see everyone again next year!
