5/12/2009 Miss Marie & Professor Louie completed their second Real Work Project with Design students at Ulster County Community College, in Stone Ridge, NY. In 2007, Sean Nixon, Professor of Art, Graphic Design Program was looking for a new project for his second year class and he contacted Woodstock Records. Professor Louie & the Crowmatix had just completed a CD and were ready for some new art work. Both parties were excited about getting together to formulate a design for this CD. Miss Marie held weekly sessions with the students teaching them the intregal parts needed for designing a musical CD package. The Design students (approx.15) all created wonderful graphics for As The Crow Flies. It was thrilling to see the creative and innovative results and hard to pick just one design to be used. The winning CD design was by Jeff Hoetzler. It was a wonderful and collaborative effort and culminated with Miss Marie & Professor Louie attending the Design Open House Show to see more of the creative artistry of the students. Because of the success of the first Real Work Project, Sean Nixon once again contacted Woodstock Records to work with his new design class and all parties were willing and able to do it all over again. In May 2009, a new design was chosen for Professor Louie & The Crowmatix upcoming CD Whispering Pines. Beautiful CD design package by Etsuko Rosenblum and also a new name logo for this CD was created by Salvatore Altamirano-Farrell. Another great adventure!
