11/27/2011 Ned B. Fleischer, who directed the chorale for Melodies of Christmas since 1984, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2011. From 1974 to 2008, he worked as a music teacher at Shaker High School and was their Director of the Select Chorus. After retiring, he continued to serve as Musical Director of the Chorale group the Rensselyrics at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and as director of the Empire State Youth Chorale, which sang in the annual "Melodies of Christmas" performance at Proctors Theater in Schenectady. It was an honor and privilege for Professor Louie & The Crowmatix to know and work with Ned B. Fleischer for two seasons at The Proctors Theater on Melodies Of Christmas. He was a great musician and added musical insight to the choral arrangements of their songs especially their award winning composition Melody Of Peace. Ned will be deeply missed ... condolences go out to all of his colleagues, friends and family.
