7/14/12 All the best parts of great music are on display in “Wings On Fire,” the latest from Professor Louie and The Crowmatix. The Woodstock Records release is sure to please the mind and invigorate the soul. An easy add to a new college student’s iPod this summer. Dedicated to the band’s mentors Rick Danko and the late Levon Helm, the album is a shining example of why it’s crucial for artists and bands to create work to inspire. The songs that follow in their path, being the product of learning, are always top notch. I’ll take “Time Moves On” as the album’s best track. It reminds me of great Buddy Guy and Stevie Ray Vaughan songs from the past. It’s clear these folks are driven to match the all time greats, and they did just that with this gem. Make a quick run to your independent record store for a copy of “Wings On Fire” today. You’ll be glad you did, and can always thank me later. Author: Christopher Llewellyn Adams 5 stars *****
