5/8/2009 Special Studio Project! Students from The Haldane School, Cold Spring, NY under the guidance of their music teacher Mike Klubnick, came to LRS Recording Studios and recorded original songs and learned recording techniques from Professor Louie. It was a great experience for these musicians and singers to get a chance to hang out for a day in the recording studio and record their tunes. Professor Louie gave them a CD of their songs at the end of the session. Also, Miss Marie had the opportunity to teach students at The Chambers School in Kingston, NY How to write a Song. Mona J. Stovall, their music teacher was excited to have her class participate in an innovative writing method to help students understand more fully the various techniques of writing a song. Twenty students participated. They were given two different song titles and divided into two groups - ten in each group to work together and formulate a song. Miss Marie also gave them some lyrics to begin the project. The songs created were "Dance Party" & "Summertime Fun". Miss Marie discussed with the class different methods of writing lyrics and various structures of songs. A great learning experience for all and two fun tunes too!
