7/21/2020 Professor Louie taught online for Common Ground On The Hill ~ a music and arts community located in Westminster, MD where master musicians, artists, craftspeople provide a quality learning experience. Traditions Weeks were online this summer - three individual weeks of classes, concerts and activities in the traditional roots-based arts. Professor Louie taught online - Three great classes - Week 2 ~ July 6 - July 10, 2020 Music of The Band - Period 2 This workshop featured the music of the legendary group The Band, and was led by its co-producer and keyboard player from the 90s, Professor Louie. Everyone brought their instruments and voices to play and sing some of the classics such as The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down, I Shall Be Released, The Weight and more. Blues Piano with Professor Louie was online - Week 2 - Period 4 If you already play piano and were ready to get into blues, barrelhouse, boogie-woogie, or rock playing, Louie started with simple rhythm patterns and expands into solo playing. Learning traditional blues, rock, and folk styles, both as a soloist and as a member of a band and to sing along or accompany a singer playing some Band songs and blues. Juke Joint Blues - ONLINE - Week 2 Period 5 ~ Professor Louie, William Lee Ellis, Ralph Evans, Eleanor Ellis The Blues were born in the juke joints of the rural South and at this class everyone learned and shared extensive Blues repertoire. Beginner to intermediate level players with all instruments were welcome.
