Miss Marie: I didn't realize it until later, but my classical music education helped with the music I am playing now. Besides teaching me to play piano and know chords, it really helped me to have better pitch. Also, I was pretty good as a child. I wasn't a prodigy, but I did play Steinway Hall. I did little concerts because my teacher thought I was really good. And those concerts got me into performing. I wasn't too afraid to get in front of an audience. So I think all of that develops your skills on different levels. You don't even realize how much you're taking from that education at the time.
